Moving home later in life, perhaps following the loss of a loved one or change in health, can be understandably difficult for many people. As The Organised Assistant, I provide expert support to older adults and their families during the often overwhelming process of moving home or moving into care.
A compassionate, hands-on service coordinating all aspects of the move ensuring a smooth transition to a new living situation. The service is tailored to each client's unique emotional and practical needs but often includes planning for a property sale, pre-move downsizing and decluttering, arranging charity donations and auction sales, removals and clearance requirements through to setting up your new home.

I work with private clients and often their families who are looking for full or extra support with all aspects of the moving process with a clear focus on minimising stress and feelings of overwhelm.

I am also happy to work with referrals from Retirement Living Developers, Care and Nursing Homes, Solicitors, Estate Agents and Wealth Management Companies.

Sourcing reputable removal companies and clearance quotes to handle clearance needs including clearing of lofts, garages and sheds

Support with change of address and utility notifications

Basic furniture floor planning for the new home

Move day support including closing down the home you are leaving

Liaising and updating family members or third parties via call or video call
Every client is different so this is why I create a Move with Confidence Plan that is personalised to meet your individual needs and circumstances.

Due to this service being personalised, prices are indicated following an initial consultation call. A 50% deposit is payable upfront at the time of commencing work with you.
Dawn helped our parents with a downsizing move from Market Harborough to Stockport, she spent 20 hours with them over a period of a few weeks helping them decide what furniture to take and then clearing out the kitchen cupboards and utility room. She sourced and managed removals which was a big help. She organised their paperwork and created a simple filing system and helped with all the change of address notifications.
